An Open Invitation to Local Government
We welcome Council representatives, Government staff and elected members to review this page and the wider Maitland portal. Corrections, official links, practical suggestions and guidance are all appreciated. We are especially interested in ways the network can responsibly complement existing Government communication, community programs, tourism initiatives, consultations, public events and regional services.
We approach that relationship with respect for the proper role of Government. We are not seeking to replace that role. We offer a vast, independent Australian publishing network that can help worthwhile local information travel further and remain discoverable for longer.
By way of background, our development has included Australian Government support through NEIS Stage 2, together with review and written approval from an Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner for the provision of public-facing Triple Zero information. Our intent and public-value purpose have already received meaningful Government consideration and we also welcome further advice and participation.
